"Death Anxiety can be Tamed"

But, Recovery Takes Consistency and Honesty (With Yourself)".

Consistency

Consistently applying self-help methods reinforces learning, helping you internalise coping mechanisms and make them second nature.

Honesty

When you are honest about your fears and limitations, you can create a clearer, more realistic path to overcoming them. Doing this has exponential benefits.

Clarity

Clarity about the role of your phobia can help you determine whether it needs to be managed or redirected to more productive thoughts and behaviors.

Time

In self-help, time is a crucial. Real, lasting change doesn't happen overnight; it requires patience and perseverance with each small step forward leading to significant improvements over time.

Some Quick Wins
Self-help is beneficial, as it can empower you with tools and strategies to manage the anxiety, in turn providing a sense of control that reduces stress. When we are relaxed we can start to challenge any negative thought patterns about death and dying.
Good ways to regain control are breathing exercises, journaling, and physical activity. These are very effective tools in managing Thanatophobia (and Apeirophobia respectively). Journaling really helped me to gain control of my anxiety, letting it out, rather than grasping onto it and getting worse.

Mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation techniques can help you keep in the present moment, thus reducing the anxiety that you are suffering from. The self-help communities I have included, can offer social support and connection, helping you feel understood and far less isolated. There are thousands of people, all over the world, all experiencing similar thoughts so you really are not alone.

What if Self-Help Doesn't Work?

Sometimes, despite the books, the podcasts, the breathing apps and journal prompts

Nothing shifts.

You try to talk yourself into healing, into peace, into clarity...

But the old patterns keep whispering louder...

And it’s not because you’ve failed. It’s because some parts of us aren’t meant to be figured out alone. Some wounds aren’t DIY projects. They’re invitations for connection, for guidance, for real transformation.

If you’ve reached that point… Where self-help feels more like self-pressure… You’re not broken. You’re simply ready for something deeper.

That’s where I come in.

Through professional hypnotherapy and a tailored, compassionate approach, we work together to quiet the noise, untangle the fear, and help you reconnect to the version of you that’s been waiting underneath it all.

When self-help hits its limit…real help is just one conversation away. You are not broken, but something within you has to shift and I don't know what that is yet.
